State Representative John Cavaletto has been appointed to the Illinois House Task Force on Sexual Discrimination and Harassment.
Cavaletto voted last November for the creation of the task force, endorsing statewide public hearings to gather information.
He believes he can provide additional support before the December 31 deadline to file a report on findings and recommendations.
The task force has been directed to conduct a comprehensive review of the legal and social consequences of sexual discrimination and harassment, in both the public and private sectors, and make recommendations to the General Assembly.
Cavaletto said the legislature returns to Springfield in November for the veto session and he thinks the task force will be able to present its report and suggest any possible legislation to correct problems.
