Bond County Treasurer Katie Weiss reports payment of real estate taxes has been good in the early going.
As of Wednesday, 6 percent of the total taxes extended in the county had been paid.
The first installment is due July 6 and the second installment has a due date of September 6.
Treasurer Weiss urges taxpayers to check their bills and make sure all exemptions, they are entitled to, have been applied.
She reminds homeowners, if they received their tax bill and it should have gone to a lender they should forward it to the lender.
Tax bills can be paid by mail, at the treasurer’s office at 203 West College Avenue in Greenville, or at participating banks in Bond County.
