Eileen E. Reding

Eileen E. Reding, age 93 of Highland, IL, died Monday, June 18, 2018, at Meridian Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.

She was born on Monday, April 20, 1925, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Gerhard B. and Belva H. (nee Warnecke) Hoffman.

On June 20, 1946, she married Wilbur O. Reding at E & R Church, Highland, IL, by Rev Fred C. Allrich. He passed away on October 10, 1977.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, EvUCC Women’s Guild, Madison County Farm Bureau, and Weinheimer Senior Citizens.

Eileen was born in rural Clinton County, IL east of Highland and grew up on a farm. She attended Frerker County School and graduated from Highland High School in 1942. She worked at the Highland Cash Store. In 1954, she and her husband moved to a dairy farm east of Highland, where she continued to live until her death. After her husband’s death, Eileen worked 18 years at Highland Home. She loved stitching and growing flowers.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. Christopher W. Hill, pastor of Evangelical United Church of Christ, officiating.

Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ.
