A fatal accident closed down a portion of westbound Interstate 70 in Fayette County for a time Wednesday afternoon. State Police reported the accident, which took place near the 65 mile marker in the construction zone, around 2:40 PM.
Traffic was significantly backed up on the interstate as motorists were diverted onto U.S. Route 40.
