Greenville Adds New Police Officer Devon Leitschuh

For the second time within a week, a new officer has been added to the Greenville Police Department.
Devon Leitschuh was given the oath by Greenville City Clerk Sue Ann Nelson.

Leitschuh, a Bond County native, graduated from Greenville High School in 2014 and is obtaining a criminal justice degree from SIU Edwardsville.
He was the next candidate on the Greenville eligibility list and is now attending police academy training in Belleville.
Police Chief Johnny Runyon said Leitschuh was hired because the city intends to assign another officer to the State Police Drug Task Force.
The new officer is the son of Jeanie and Jim Leitschuh. His father is sheriff of Bond County.
