KPD Board Talks Swimming Pool Improvements

The swimming pool was the big topic of conversation at the Kingsbury Park District board’s meeting on June 25.

District Director Jerry Sauerwein reported he has received favorable public comments regarding improvements at the facility. New is a splash pad.

Sauerwein said attendance has increased.

He noted that the parking lot still needs work, but that will have to wait until after the swimming season. He thanked the City of Greenville for using its street sweeper to clean up dust and debris on the lot.

Sauerwein said district employees will continue to fill holes with rock.

Board Chair Scott Crothers said it appears the splash pad has led to increased usage of the large pool.

Children three and under are admitted free and the fee to enjoy the pools and splash pad is $4 per person.

The board approved the annual prevailing wage ordinance.
