Larry A. Davis, age 72 of Carlyle, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia on Friday, June 1, 2018.
Mr. Davis was born on July 31, 1945, in Alton, Illinois, a son of George and Agnes(Rapince) Davis. He married Cindy Stewart on June 27, 1986, and she survives in Carlyle.
In addition to his wife Cindy, Larry is also survived by his daughters – Toni Weaver and husband Jason of Cottage Hills, Karla Goss and husband Josh of Manito, Emily Davis of Chicago, and Laura Davis of Greenville; and his grandchildren – Bentley and Hunter Davis, Zachary, Austin, and Trinity Weaver, and Gentry and Jordan Short.
He was preceded in death by his parents – George and Agnes Davis; a son – Max Davis; and a grandson – Jared Short.
Mr. Davis was a laborer and worked out of Laborers Local 338 in Woodriver for more than 25 years. Larry loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle. The family will greet friends and family at Zieren Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
