Leo Edward “Ed” Barth, age 83 of rural Mulberry Grove, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
Funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia with Father Scott Snider. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Cancer Research for children or masses.
Ed was born on April 20, 1935 in Tomalco, son of Leo Barth and Geraldine Sutton Barth. He married Margaret Lach on November 5th, 1955.
They have three children: Kathy Barth Roberts and husband Ken Roberts of Vandalia, Joe Barth and Wife Nancy Kelly Barth of Highland, and David Barth and wife Marci Blackerby Barth of Vandalia.
Loving grandfather to: Tiffany Roberts Delacruz, Lauren Roberts Ash, Emily Barth, Johnathan Barth, Blake Barth, and Michael Barth. Great grandchildren include Jordan, Mya, and Ainsley Delacruz, and Louis and Ruby Ash.
Also survived by brother Jim Barth of Keyesport, and sisters Nancy Kuhn of Keyesport and Sally Lamar of Vandalia, and Pat Kinkle of O’Fallon Missouri and sister in law Lorene McKendree of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Bob and Tommy.
