Pedestrian Killed In Irving

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle at Irving in Montgomery County Saturday night.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department identifies the victim as 51-year-old Michael S. Adams of Irving.

The incident occurred on Pine Street near its intersection with Franklin Street about 8:50 p.m. The sheriff’s department indicates that Adams was walking on the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

When officers arrived, the driver of the vehicle, Shane M. Green, age 20, of Irving, was still there.

Green was arrested for alleged aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and illegal transportation of alcohol.

An Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene. The fatal accident remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police.
