A Troy, Illinois man faces 16 felony charges in the assault and death of 38 year old Brandi Novotny at a home on Wren Hill in Troy. According to Troy Police 55 year old Brian France, allegedly sexually assaulted and restrained Novotny on June 14th at the home on Wren Hill.
The details of this case are gruesome, as police recovered cell phone videos showing the alleged sexual assaults and that Novotny was restrained during the videos. The investigation also determined that Novotny died in France’s vehicle.
France faces 16 felony counts including alleged Criminal Sexual Assault, Involuntary Manslaughter, and Unlawful Restraint from the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. France was arrested by Troy Police and is currently being held on $10,000,000 bond at the Madison County Jail.
Troy Police Chief Brad Parsons said, “The ability for multiple agencies to work together was imperative in bringing justice for this young girl. Many Investigators and Officers put in countless hours to ensure a thorough investigation was completed.”
