The Mulberry Grove Board of Education met Monday. They approved hiring Casie Bowman Elementary Principal. Bowman signed a three-year contract for 2018-2021.
During a special budget hearing, Superintendent Brad Turner presented the amended 2017-2018 budget. All fund balances are projected to be positive at the end of the fiscal year June 30, 2018. The board approved the amended budget.
In the financial report, Turner said general state aid continues to arrive on time but no categorical state aid payments for transportation and special education were received in May. All fund balances are still strong. The district got four categorical state aid payments this year but two of them were due from last year. Turner said the district may get another payment before the end of June.
Board members accepted a letter of resignation from individual aide Harry Logan.
The Monday meeting was the final one for Superintendent Brad Turner who accepted the superintendent position in Nashville. Stephen Phillips is the new superintendent in Mulberry Grove assuming his duties July 1.
