Two roof projects will be done this summer at Bond County Unit 2 schools.
The school board has approved a contractor for the work which includes removal and replacement of the locker room roof at the high school gym plus gutter replacement, and removal and replacement of the gym and stage roof at Pocahontas School.
The low bidder was Joiner Sheet Metal and Roofing. Two companies submitted bids.
Joiner’s prices are $62,000 for the Pocahontas School work and $73,000 for the high school roof work.
Both projects are included in the district’s health-life safety plan and will be paid from the health-life safety tax levy.
Mike Wilhite, district facilities director, reported to the board that warranties have expired on another roof at Pocahontas School in addition to roofs at Greenville Junior High and Sorento School.
