There’s more good news to report from the Bond County Unit 2 Weekend Backpack Program.
The initiative has been given a grant from the Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation. 368 applications were received for this grant and the Weekend Backpack Program was one of the few selected for funding.
Organizers say the grant will be put towards shelving to help organize the program’s new space in the basement of Greenville Elementary School.
