Albert W. Adamick Jr., 90, of Highland, IL died Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Cedarhurst of Edwardsville, IL.
Albert was born April 28, 1928, to Albert and Agnes (nee Brulan) Adamick, Sr. in Collinsville, IL. On June 27, 1953, he married Shirley Hayes at Schofield Army Base in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
Albert was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. His faith was central to his life and he looked forward to attending Mass every Sunday morning. Albert served the United States Army for four years after High School. He grew up in a farming family and farmed throughout his life. Albert loved to grow things from seed, including large pumpkins and a paw paw tree. Another favorite hobby was hunting mushrooms. He also enjoyed shopping and could spend hours in a grocery store. Albert was friendly and outgoing and enjoyed meeting people in everyday places, and sitting around telling stories.
He is survived by his children, Pam (Dennis) Knobeloch, Mascoutah, IL, Greg (Debbie) Adamick, Highland, IL, Bob (Jeanette) Adamick, Highland, IL, Stephan (Peggy) Adamick, Pocahontas, IL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Irvin) Helmer, Highland, IL; sister-in-law, Marie Adamick, Maryville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Agnes Adamick, Sr.; wife, Shirley Adamick (2015); sister, Marcella Froncheck; brother, Ray Adamick.
