George F. “Frank” Brenton, age 92 of Edwardsville, IL, died Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Veterans Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
He was born June 10, 1926, in Eureka, KS, the son of Edgar and Alice (nee Giffin) Brenton.
On December 19, 1948, he married Elizabeth A. Rothe who survives.
He was a member of VFW Post #1308 – Alton, IL.
Frank was born in Kansas and grew up there. He joined the US Navy during WWII serving aboard the USS Randolph in the Atlantic. When he returned home he traveled the Midwest building oil storage facilities. This where he met his wife and began a family. He moved back to Kansas in 1954 and worked for his father in an Oil Field Trucking business. In 1966 he moved back to Madison county Illinois where he worked for Union Tank Car and Helmkamp Construction Companies. After his retirement he worked for Ketchum Sheep Equipment Co. He enjoyed travel to Europe with his wife and antiquing. They also liked dances on Saturday nights at the Alton VFW. Both Frank and his wife have been avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fans for over 50 years.

Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL., with Rev. Mark Gause officiating.
Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hosptial.
