Marion H. Seitz, age 87 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Greenville Nursing and Rehab in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Montrose Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 30, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials may be made to Bond County Hospice or the Senior Citizen’s Center.
Marion Helen, the daughter of Robert Adolph and Lina Marie (Hanser) Iberg, was born November 9, 1930 in Highland, Illinois. She was raised in Decks Prairie, which was located between Highland, Illinois and Marine, Illinois. Marion attended the Giger one-room school and graduated from Highland High School with the class of 1948. Marion worked as a secretary for Dr. Baumann after high school until 1953.
On August 30, 1952 Marion and Albert P. Seitz were united in marriage at the E&R Church (now Highland United Church of Christ). They enjoyed 55 years together before his passing on April 8, 2008. They were long time members of the Central Christian Church. Marion was an active member of the Bond County Senior’s Center and Meals on Wheels.
Marion stayed at home and raised her children when they were young. She and Al opened up Reaban’s in 1967, later known as Al’s Drive in. They owned and operated for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Marion and Al enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and traveling.
Surviving are their 2 children: Steven R. Seitz and his wife Marsha of Collinsville, Illinois and daughter Carla A. Nusbaum of Greenville. Loving grandmother of Andrew Nusbaum and wife Lindsey, Daniel Nusbaum and wife Karyn, Quinn Seitz and step-granddaughter Bailey Todd and husband Ryan. Great-Grandmother to Caleb and Simon and step-great-grandmother to Emmett and Rosalie.
Marion was the last of her generation, preceded in death by siblings: Robert Iberg, Eileen Iberg, Coreen Driemeyer and Muriece Schwend.
