Small Earthquake In Southern Illinois

An earthquake reportedly shook portions of Southern Illinois early Thursday morning. According to the United State Geological Survey, the 2.3 magnitude quake hit at 12:44 a.m., just nine miles northeast of Pinkneyville. Residents in Mount Vernon, Centralia, and Herrin may have felt a slight shaking.
