Route 143 Bridge Project Ahead Of Schedule

WGEL fan Tammy Ritzheimer Mount shared this photo with us in August, showing the progress on the Rt. 143 Bridge construction project east of Millersburg.

Illinois Rt. 143, east of Millersburg, is still closed due to a bridge replacement project over Shoal Creek.

The completion of the work is near.

Paul Grabowski, Illinois Department of Transportation field engineer on the project, told WGEL construction remains ahead of schedule and it is hoped the bridge will be open by December 1.

The bridge has been closed since October of last year.
