Approximately 45 veterans attended Friday morning’s 13th annual Veterans Program at Greenville High School.
The guest speaker was Janis Kasten, mother of two students at GHS. She served in locations throughout the world in the U.S. Army as a military police officer, from 1987 to 1994.
She spoke to the students who filled the west side of the gymnasium and listened intently.

Students participated in various parts of the program, and the band and chorus performed.
Each male and female veteran introduced themselves, several expressing appreciation for the program.
Veterans Day activities were held at the school throughout the day. A military museum, featuring World War I items from the Bond County Historical Society collection, was set up in the library; and a motivational speaker addressed students twice.
