Illinois State Police are investigating a car vs. pedestrian accident which occurred Thursday, November 8 at the intersection of Union Avenue at Monroe Street in the city of Litchfield.
Just after 9 PM, Nathan Glover, age 31, of Litchfield, was traveling eastbound on Union Avenue at the intersection of Monroe Street.
Police say Glover struck the pedestrian, 46 year old Lorie McDonald, of Litchfield, who was on the west side of the intersection. McDonald was transported to St. Francis Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Nathan Glover was cited for alleged Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Further details have not been made available. The crash is being investigated by the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
Other agencies on scene were Litchfield Fire and Ambulance, Litchfield Police Department and the Montgomery County Coroner.
