The First United Methodist Church was filled Sunday afternoon for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony in Greenville.
The program was presented by the Bond County Veterans Memorial Committee and Bond County veterans organizations.
Featured speaker was Darrell Tucker, commander of the Illinois Department of AMVETS. His theme was “What Is a Veteran?”
Tucker said veterans must have a P-H-D, which stands for pride, honor and duty.

Participating in the program were representatives from Bond County veterans organizations, third grade students from the Greenville Elementary School, the Greenville High School chorus, Boy Scout Troop 57, Veterans John Knight, John Gillard, Wayne Pierce and Howard Wise, and the singing group, The Nomads.
Knight, who served as emcee, reported 8 new bricks were added to the Veterans Memorial in downtown Greenville.
