Gerald L. “Jerry” Kohne, age 77 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, December 27, 2018, at his residence in Highland, IL.
He was born on October 04, 1941, in Highland, IL, the son of Clarence and Violet (nee Rock) Kohne.
On December 26, 1964, he married Enola Rosaleen Pometti at Highland, IL. She survives in Highland, IL.
Jerry was born in Highland, IL and grew up south of St. Jacob. He graduated St. Jacob High School in 1959. He entered the US Marine Corps. at age 17 with two years of active duty and six years in the Reserves. He worked for DOW Chemical then drove a truck for Alvin Merkle, Commercial Cartage and became Dispatcher for Fultran Trucking in Granite City for 6 years. He started G&E Service and ran it until retiring in 2017. He worked hard at making his wife happy. Together they enjoyed going out to eat and attending dances. He loved animals, road trips, fishing, picnics, and always had a joke to share and liked to make people laugh.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Pastor Tom Plogue officiating.
Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.
