The Comets led by a point after one quarter and by 4 at halftime. They held Roxana to 2 points in the third quarter to open up a 10-point lead.
The Shells crept to within four points early in the fourth quarter, but could not catch the Comets, who made 10 of 14 free throws in the final 8 minutes.
Isaac Green led all scorers with 14 points. Brock Nelson finished with 9 points, sinking 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Greenville is 3 and 0 in the conference, and shares first place with Pana and Litchfield. The Comets are 10 and 7 overall. They play at Nashville Tuesday night. The game will be broadcast on WGEL and streamed at WGEL.com.
