Lady Comets Now 4 & 1

In high school girls basketball action Saturday afternoon, the Greenville Lady Comets improved their South Central Conference record to 4-1 with a 60-22 victory at Litchfield.

The GHS girls led the entire game, opening up a 16-point margin after one quarter and leading by as many as 39 points in the second half.

Nine Lady Comets scored in the game with four in double figures. Ally Cantrill and Nancy Fritzsche had 11 points apiece and Rylee Pickett and Megan Hallemann totaled 10 each.

Greenville won the junior varsity game 30-26 with Danielle Brand scoring 7.

The varsity Lady Comets are 17-1 for the season. They play at home Monday night against Okawville and travel to Gillespie Thursday night. Both games will be broadcast on WGEL and streamed at WGEL.com.
