Morris L. Moser, age 88 of Highland, IL, died Monday, March 25, 2019, at Liberty Village of Maryville in Maryville, IL.
He was born on Sunday, January 04, 1931, in Saint Jacob, IL, the son of Edwin and Frieda (nee Lorenz) Moser.
On Sunday, July 18, 1954, he married Verla M. Moser nee Staley at E & R Church-Highland, who survives.
He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL; Friends of Louis Latzer Library; Highland Historical Society; SIU-E Alumni; VFW Post 5694-Highland (since 1953) (Past Commander 1959); former member of the Lee Iten Post 439-American Legion-Highland.
He was born at St. Jacob, IL; attended Kaufmann Grade School north of Highland and graduated from Highland High School in 1948. After graduation he worked as a bricklayer until 1964 when he began working as an accountant for the Seven Up, World Headquarters, Clayton, MO. He retired from the Seven Up Corp., in 1987. He received a B.S. degree in accounting from SIU Edwardsville in 1971. For 21 months during 1952-53, he served with the US Army. Nine months of the time he was an artillery forward observer in Korea. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal. In his retirement he was a rural carrier for the US Post Office and a janitor for the Evangelical United Church of Christ-Highland. He was an avid historian with voluminous records of Highland history. Well over 18000 family tree entries. His basement is a curiosity shop of oddity collections. His favorite beloved pet, was a cat named “mouse”.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. Will VerDuin, Assoc. Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery, Highland, IL.
