The varsity baseball Greenville Comets are still undefeated in the South Central Conference.
Tuesday afternoon at Southwestern, the Comets defeated the Piasa Birds 6-4.
Hunter Gray was credited with the pitching win, going six innings. Jonathan Barnes finished on the mound in relief.
The Comets are 6-0 in the conference and 14-6 overall. They host Mascoutah Thursday.
In junior varsity action, GHS topped Southwestern 9-7.
The Comets took the lead in the sixth with two runs and added three in the seventh.
Late in the game, Haiden Graham had two big hits for RBIs, Leno Caldieraro drove in a run with a ground out and Clayton Dannaman recorded a sacrifice fly.
