The Greenville baseball Comets extended their South Central Conference winning streak to seven games with a 5-1 win over Carlinville last Friday.
The winners posted two runs in the first inning and three in the second. Logan Doll had multiple runs batted in.
Brock Nelson was the winning pitcher and Jonathan Barnes pitched well in relief.
The Comets improved their overall record to 15-6.
In junior varsity action, Carlinville stopped the Comets 14-8. For GHS, Mason Barnes, Haiden Graham, Leno Caldieraro and Steven Jack cracked two hits apiece while Graham and Jack each had two RBIs.
Saturday, the freshman Comets fell to Breese Central 11-1 in 6 innings. Dylan Rasler drove in the run with a base hit.
