25th Anniversary Of Greenville FCI

It was 25 years ago this year that FCI Greenville opened.

Richard Seiter was the first warden at Greenville’s federal prison. He returned earlier this month to speak at the Correctional Officers Week ceremony.

Seiter talked a little about the beginnings of FCI Greenville. He was the first employee. While the facility was being built, they had temporary offices in Edwardsville. He said they thought the location had promise and now he knows that was true.

He also recognized employees who began their federal career at the Greenville facility.

Seiter took advantage of the occasion to say his final goodbye to Greenville. He is moving to California to be near family.
