For the fifth time in the past seven years, Greenville High School athletes have earned the All-Sports Champion honor in the South Central Conference.
This past year the Comets tied with Carlinville in overall points with 117. First place in each sport is worth 10 points, second place 9 points, third place 8 points, and so on.
GHS was conference champion in baseball, boys’ basketball, and boys and girls tennis. Second place finishes occurred in girls golf, boys soccer and girls basketball.
Greenville and Carlinville had four champions each, Hillsboro and Pana won three titles apiece, Roxana had two and Vandalia one.
Following Greenville and Carlinville in overall points were Hillsboro, Pana, Roxana, Staunton, Litchfield, Vandalia, Southwestern and Gillespie.
