The Greenville Comets are the South Central Conference baseball champions for 2019.
The Comets completed a sweep of the conference with a 13-0 home victory Monday afternoon over Hillsboro.
GHS led 3-0 through two innings, then put 9 runs on the scoreboard in the third. All 13 runs scored by the Comets occurred after there were two outs in the inning.
Brock Nelson was the winning pitcher in the five-inning game.
The Comets are now 18-6 overall this season and end conference play with a 9-0 record. Greenville and Hillsboro will meet again on May 16 in the semifinals of the Greenville Regional.
The junior varsity Comets beat Hillsboro 5-2.
