Curtis J. “Curt” Iberg


Curtis J. “Curt” Iberg, age 79 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in O Fallon, IL.

He was born on April 06, 1940, in Highland, IL, the son of Oliver and Irma (nee Reding) Iberg.

On September 23, 1961, he married Sandra A. Hug at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL. She passed away on October 22, 1999.

He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Helvetia Sharpshooters, Madison County Farm Bureau, Illinois Spotted Swine Assocition.

Curt was born in Highland, IL. He went to Highland High School and graduated in 1958. He was the fifth generation of Iberg’s to live on the original homestead. He raised swine and farmed the ground. He moved off the homestead and into town in 1995. He had worked at Freeway Implement, Kesner Fertilizer and Oberbeck Elevator. In retirement he worked for Cheveron Commerical and Hamilton Hay Auction. He enjoyed watching his grandsons sporting events, attending livestock shows and watcing sports on TV. He was a faithful listener to this church Radio Ministry. Curt and his family were inducted into the Illinois Spotted Swine Association Hall of Fame in early 2000

Brother In-law – Gerald F. (Carol) Hug, Des Plaines, IL

He was preceded in death by :
Father – Oliver William Iberg – Died 3/03/1983
Mother – Irma Ella Iberg, nee Reding – Died 3/29/2006
Wife – Sandra A. “Sandy” Iberg nee Hug – Died 10/22/1999

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Janis Dashner officiating.

Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery, Highland, IL in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to EvUCC Radio Ministry or Madison County Fair Association.
