Danny B. Armstrong, age 65 of rural Smithboro, Illinois, passed away 12:30 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2019 at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, Illinois. Arrangements are pending at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment is being held in Maxey Cemetery.
Danny Benjamin Armstrong, the son of Benjamin Alexander Armstrong and Shirley Whitker Reid, was born August 23, 1953. Danny grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended the local schools. He graduated from Riverview High School . Danny worked as a truck driver and then for 25+ years as a sheet metal worker for the Local Labor Union #36. He loved Cardinal Baseball and was a huge fan. Danny was a funny guy, loved spending time with his family and listening to his talk radio 550 am.
Danny was married to Kathleen Armstrong and they divorced. On May 13, 1993 he and Sheri Armstrong were united in marriage. They later divorced. He is survived by his children: Elizabeth Armstrong and husband Paul of St. Louis, Missouri, Sarah Dillback and husband Josh of Michigan and J.D. Armstrong of Troy, Missouri. 5 grandchildren: Acaina, Nichole, Kaitlyn, Brayden and Crew. He is also survived by a sister Jill Armstrong and brother Rick Armstrong and wife Michelle of Highland, Illinois.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Danielle Armstrong and sister Callie Reid.
