Lady Panthers On SLIAC All-Conference Track Team


A Greenville University women’s track and field athlete has been recognized as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year. That award went to Greenville’s Cayden Sharp. The freshman from Waverly, Illinois, recently won gold in the 100-meter dash and high jump while picking up silver in the 100-meter hurdle and as a member of the 4×100 relay team.

SLIAC has announced its All Conference Women’s Track and Field Team.

Panthers on that team include Cayden Sharp in the 100 Meter Dash, 100 Meter Hurdle, and High Jump, Haniah Davis in the 200 Meter Dash, Jessica Staley in the 200 Meter Dash and 400 Meter Dash, Hannah Williams in the 800 Meter Run, Sheridan Noll in the 1500 Meter Run, Emma Leonhard in the 5,000 Meter Run, Kori Nesbit in the 10,000 Meter Run, Sydney Porter in the 400 Meter Hurdle and Triple Jump, and Sabrina Favela in the 3,000 Steeplechase.

Relay teams making the cut include Cayden Sharp, Jessica Staley, Tyla Anderson, and Haniah Davis in the 4×100 Relay and Jessica Staley, Hannah Williams, Alyssa Comer, and Sheridan Noll in the 4×400 Relay

Hammer throwers Deb Cunningham and Victoria Papez also made the team, as did Savannah Maloney for the Javelin.

Representing the Panthers on the All-Sportsmanship Team is GU’s Kori Nesbit.
