Misc. Action From Unit Two Board Meeting

At a recent special meeting of the Bond County Unit 2 Board of Education, the resignation of Sean Sandifer as a high school math teacher was accepted. He had been hired only a couple of weeks before.

The board has filled the position with Krista Zurliene of Highland for the 2019-20 school year.

Kristin Hentze, who recently resigned as a secretary at Greenville Elementary School, was hired for no more than 10 hours to help with completion of required reports that must be done by the end of the school year.

The board will continue to meet the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. unless a holiday occurs on that date. That occurs in January and February of next year, so the meeting will be the following Tuesday.

In June of 2020, the meeting will be the last Monday of June, since it is close to the end of the fiscal year.

Unit 2 board committees were assigned. They include Nate Prater and Dan Sidwell on Buildings, Grounds and Transportation; Randi Workman and Laura Wall on policy and curriculum, Ashley Driemeyer and Brian Zeeb on finance, and Prater and Edmar Schreiber on negotiations.

Other assignments were Wall on the Academic Foundation Board, Workman on the Character Education Board, Driemeyer on the Insurance Committee Board, Sidwell on the Midstate Special Education Board, and Schreiber as the Illinois Association of School Board’s representative.
