What landmark in Greenville contains 178,000 gallons of water?
Well, it’s the Kingsbury Park District swimming pool.
The public pool is scheduled to open this weekend.
Park District Director Jerry Sauerwein talked with WGEL’s Jeff Leidel about the pool, noting it was filled Tuesday and the final touches are being put on the splash pad. The hours are the same as last year and are published in the district’s recreation brochure and on their website.
A new addition to the pool will be a shade structure between the concession area and the main pool.

Sauerwein said residents have a way to keep up with what’s happening at the pool. There are individual Facebook pages for the district and the pool. You can follow the pool’s page to keep up with announcements and notifications.
