Don’t miss the GU Jazz Band’s final on-campus performance Thursday, May 2nd at 7 pm in the Whitlock Music Center. The concert playlist will include a selection of the top requested songs by both audiences and band members, so be sure to come hear your favorite toe-tapping tunes.
Plus, bring all the special ladies in your life out for a memorable afternoon of musical entertainment. The Greenville University Concert Band will present its ninth annual concert celebrating mothers on Sunday, May 5th at 4 pm in the Whitlock Music Center, the final offering in the 2018-19 band performance series.
Entitled “Music of the Faithful Part 2”, all musical tastes will find something to enjoy in this year’s closing performance. The program features hymn tunes or music inspired by biblical texts – the perfect way to spend an afternoon with the favorite women in your life. Also, you’ll have another chance to hear Hogue Tower Celebration, commissioned by Greenville University and debuted this fall with composer Ed Huckeby at the baton.
The Greenville University Concert Band and Jazz Band are under the baton of Professor Will Fairbanks. For more information about the Greenville University music department’s other spring offerings, contact Kim Brannon at (618) 664-6560 or kim.brannon@greenville.edu.
