Following an executive session Monday night, the Bond County Unit 2 Board of Education addressed several personnel items,
Hired for next school year were Natasha Stellhorn as a speech pathologist at Greenville Elementary School, Jennifer Mesnard as a district school counselor, Rebecca Albers as a district social/emotional counselor, Amber Pruitt as a language arts teacher at Greenville Junior High, and Tiffani Graber as a secretary at Greenville Elementary.
Jennifer Papin was hired as a part-time bus aide.
The board voted to modify the expulsion of a student and reduce the period of expulsion to end June 1.
Summer maintenance workers were hired by the board. Lucas Carlson, Gavin Mitchell and Chad Stearns will each work 38 days. Cheyenne Elam was allowed an extra 27.25 hours as secretary at Greenville Elementary to complete end of the year projects.
The board accepted the retirement of Jane Netzler, teacher’s aide at Greenville Junior High, effective the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
Darlene Johnson has resigned as a Kindergarten Readiness Program teacher, effective the end of this school year.
Aristede Ephron resigned as high school freshman boys’ basketball coach and the board hired Terry Swalley for the position. Swalley resigned as Sorento girls’ basketball coach.
Brooke Chilovich resigned as Sorento cheerleading coach and the board hired Meg Reynolds for the job.
Erin Cummings is the new volleyball coach at Greenville Junior High.
Leaves of absence, some retroactive and others at the start of the next school year, were granted to current staff members Daniel Hutchins, Glen Marti, Elizabeth Cates, Cheyenne Elam and Nicholas Elam.
Rehired as winter athletic coaches at the high school were Todd Cantrill and Adam Doll in boys basketball, Kolin Dothager and Quinton Hamman in girls basketball, and Amanda Goldsboro in basketball cheerleading.
Volunteer coaches for next school year at the high school will be Stan Pickett, Bart Caldieraro, Tyler Hutchinson, Chad Nelson and Arthur Kerle in football, Pam Craig, Carl Brannon and Jesse Shaw in girls tennis, Shaw and Vaughn Robart in boys tennis, Doug Fletcher in golf, Amanda Goldsboro and Gayla Brauns in football cheerleading, Allyson Loucks and Brauns in basketball cheerleading, Kevin Jackson in boys basketball, Briana Van Kleef, Katie Schreiber and Brianna Wade in girls basketball; Joe Alstat in baseball and David Holden in cross country.
