In their meeting Tuesday, the Bond County Board heard a presentation from Jeffery H. Tamkin, President and CEO of Public Facilities Investment Corporation, or PFIC. Tamkin talked about services PFIC could provide in regards to a new jail for the Bond County Sheriff’s Department. The capacity of the current jail is 22, but officials would like to look at a 40 or 50 bed facility.
No timeline has been defined for the jail project and board members said they would need to do research into funding options.
The board approved liquor licenses for Nuby’s Steakhouse and the Greenville Country Club.
Openings on the Bond County Board of Health were announced. Dr. Tom Dawdy and Diane Lippert are seeking reappointment. Karla Plage is being recommended to replace Dennis Korte, who is retiring from the board.
