Dairy Days Return This Weekend

WGEL is proudly displaying these decorations from the original Dairy Day event in celebration of this weekend's festivities.

Dairy Days are Friday and Saturday in downtown Greenville.

The event is back this weekend after several years of not being held. Always a one-day event in the past, the new and improved Dairy Days will consist of activities Friday night and during the day Saturday.

Greenville Tourism Director Jes Adam invites area residents to visit Dairy Days. He said people seem really excited about the event. Friday’s activities will run from 6 to 10 PM. The fun Saturday begins at 10 AM and continues through 4 PM. He said there will be plenty of fun for everyone.

Among Friday’s activities are the appearance of Anna and Elsa from the movie “Frozen” at 6:30 p.m. and square dancing at 7 p.m. with Dennis Thompson doing the calling.

On Saturday, contests include cow milking at 11 a.m., homemade ice cream competition at noon and ice cream eating at 1 p.m.

The music lineup for Saturday consists of Drew Baxter at 10 a.m., Taylor Steele at 10:30 a.m., the Jeff Chapman Acoustic Duo at 12:15 p.m. and Wildflower Conspiracy at 2 p.m.

Visitors can participate in yoga on the courthouse lawn at 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, and kids’ yoga will be offered at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
