The Greenville First Christian Church took up a love offering on Easter Sunday and donated that money to two organizations, one of them being the Simple Room in Greenville.
On Wednesday night, church officials presented a check for $6,600 to Blake Gocey, community relations director at the Simple Room.
The funds will be used to purchase appliances in the new Simple Room building near the corner of Third and Franklin Streets in Greenville.
