Four Greenville University musicians will perform original music at the St. Louis Sound live music competition for a chance to win a trip to Nashville, a professional song demo recording and a performance date at the Sheldon Concert Hall. St. Louis Sound takes place Wednesday, June 26, at 7:30 p.m. at The Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis.
Current G.U. students Mikayla Hoult and Noah Schlosser, and G.U. graduates Austin Simmons and Clayton Jones will be among the 11 musical acts performing at the event. A panel of judges will determine the winner in this American-Idol-style competition.
“We’re thrilled that so many Greenville University musicians made the cut,” says G.U.’s Director of Strategic Design Danara Moore, who oversees the University’s music business program. “We encourage our students to bring top-notch skills and enthusiastic persistence to their work, whether that’s music, music business or any other discipline. We certainly see the results in what our students produce.”
The winner receives a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, for up to six band members to record a demo and meet music industry professionals. The winner will also perform at The Sheldon on a date yet to be determined.
Tickets for the St. Louis Sound event are $20 at the door or online through Metrotix. Proceeds benefit the HEAL Center for the Arts.
