HSHS Holy Family Hospital has received a four-star rating for patient experience from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
The score is based on a summary of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, which assesses patient experiences. The CMS summary star rating scores hospitals on a one- to five-star scale based on the 10 publicly reported measures in the HCAHPS survey. The HCAHPS survey’s 32 questions cover these areas:
Nurse communication
Doctor communication
Responsiveness of hospital staff
Communication about medicines
Discharge questions
Care transitions
Cleanliness of hospital environment
Quietness of hospital environment
Hospital rating
Willingness to recommend hospital
This score reflects HCAHPS survey results from Quarter 4 of 2017 (October-December 2017) through Quarter 3 of 2018 (July-September 2018).
President and CEO Kelly Sager shared, “This rating demonstrates the continued work by our HSHS Holy Family Hospital colleagues on enhancing the care provided to our patients and their family members. Since October 2018 to present, we have streamlined our registration process, connected more with our physicians to improve our transition of care process, and are currently updating aesthetics and technology in our patient care rooms,” she said.
