I-70 Ramp Closures

Access to Greenville via the Interstate 70 exit 45/Rt. 127 ramps will be affected in July as the exit and entrance ramps are renovated.

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the westbound entrance ramp will be closed five days beginning July 8 and the westbound exit ramp will be closed five days beginning July 9.

Once the westbound ramps are completed work will begin on the eastbound ones. The eastbound entrance ramp will be closed five days beginning July 15 and the eastbound exit ramp will be closed five days starting July 16.

All work will proceed weather permitting. IDOT reports the closures are necessary to partially reconstruct the ramps at their intersections with Rt. 127.

Traffic will be maintained with a posted detour via I-70 and Route 40.

IDOT advises motorists to follow all construction signs and drive with caution through work zones. Delays should be expected and use of alternate routes may be beneficial.
