Jack William Ellis, the son of Frank William and Pearl Cora (Muskopf) Ellis, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Heritage Manor in Litchfield, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville with Pastor Jeffery Nehrt officiating. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Greenville with full military honors by V.F.W. Post 1377 of Greenville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Jack William, the son of Frank William and Pearl Cora (Muskopf) Ellis, was born February 21, 1934 in East St. Louis, Illinois. Jack moved to Oregon with his family and attended the local schools there. They moved back to the East St. Louis area where Jack graduated from High School. He served our country in the United States Army overseas and was honorably discharged on September 18, 1958.
Jack and Maria Rozario were united in marriage on March 19, 1960. Jack was a cement mason, working for Local Labor #90 out of East St. Louis, Illinois for many years. He retired in 1995. Maria passed away in 1998, they had enjoyed 38 years together.
Surviving are children: Cindy Miller and Terry Klein of Trenton, Illinois, Georgia Gorline and Tee of Christiana, Tennessee and Joseph “Mike” Jones of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He is also survived by a long-time companion Emma Lou Feller, sister Virginia Cecil of Belleville, Illinois, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Jack loved his family and enjoyed and created many beautiful pieces of wood for them, a true wood-worker. He also loved photography, stain glass work, target shooting and was in many competitions.
