The Greenville Library Board had a special visitor at its meeting last week.

Fred Schlipf, University of Illinois professor and a library consultant, met with the board.

Library Director Jo Keillor said the board was given a lot of information. Keillor said the main concern is that the library is cramped for space and struggles to meet the needs of all patrons. Schlipf’s plan is a preliminary document and was based on a “dream situation” wherein all options were possible. Keillor said the library continues to gather information and process it thoughtfully, keeping in mind what future libraries will look like and offer their communities. There are no remodeling plans for the library currently.
