State Senator Jason Plummer is asking his colleagues to pass House Joint Resolution 36, designating the Route 160 bridge, crossing over I-70, the “Richard Clayton Bridge”.
Plummer said the bridge runs between Highland and Grantfork in Madison County. Clayton was born in Pocahontas in 1930 and is a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He served the state as a leading expert in bridge design and construction. Plummer pointed out that many bridges in other senators’ districts were probably designed by Clayton.
