Simple Room’s Dine At The Vine A Hit

The Simple Room’s first Dine At The Vine Saturday night was a huge success.

Lorna Gaffney, communications director for the Simple Room, said the event was held at the Family Vine and included a great meal, silent, and live auctions, and 100 people in attendance. $17,000 was raised to benefit the Simple Room.

Fundraising has been underway for quite some time for the new Simple Room building.

Gaffney said the staff is currently operating in the new building and students will begin to use it in the fall. An open house for the community will be held in August. Gaffney said the Simple Room’s Project 24 summer initiative is being held at the First Presbyterian Church as it has in years past.

The Project 24 program meets four days a week and serves 60 boys and girls. There is no cost to the students.
