The Bond County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred about 5:10 p.m. Sunday at a house in the 200 block of Wall Street in Mulberry Grove.
Sheriff Jim Leitschuh reported the department received a call that a 19-year-old man had been stabbed, but an ambulance was not needed.
When deputies arrived at the scene, it was determined the victim should go to HSHS Holy Family Hospital for treatment. Leitschuh said the man was treated and released.
He also said two juvenile males are being sought in the case, which is being investigated as a home invasion and aggravated battery.
According to the sheriff, deputies were told the two suspects entered the house without permission, and allegedly began to take items, when an altercation began and the resident was stabbed with a knife.
The suspects fled on foot.
