Two teenagers were charged in the string of vehicle burglaries in the Godfrey area.
In late May and June, Madison County Sherriff’s Office began looking into several vehicle burglary reports in the Godfrey Area. The reports were similar in the fact that these vehicles were unlocked and small miscellaneous items were taken from the vehicles. As the investigation continued, it was estimated that 70-100 vehicle burglaries were committed in the Godfrey/Alton Area. Alton Police Department assisted in the investigation.
19 year old Walker S. Moan of Alton and 18 year old Roman N. Thomeczek of Godfrey were each charged with 7 counts of alleged Burglary. The bond was set at $25,000 for each defendant.

An additional subject was also petitioned to the juvenile courts in alleged conjunction with the burglaries. Their identity will not be released.
