Alhambra Woman One Of Two Murdered In Washington Park

An Alhambra woman was the victim of one of two homicides that Illinois State Police believe occurred within 24 hours of each other in Washington Park.

State police say the body of the first victim has been identified as Sandra Reckmann, a 49 year old female of Alhambra. Reckmann was found in an area of overgrown vegetation in the 1600 block of 56th Street in Washington Park on Tuesday, July 9 at approximately 5:00 A.M. by police officers from Washington Park. Reckmann was reportedly known to frequent the Bunkum Road at Kingshighway area of Washington Park.

The second victim’s body was located in the John Thornton Memorial Park in Washington Park, and she is identified as Bridgett B. Williams, a 56 year old female of Washington Park. Williams’ body was also located by Washington Park police on July 10th at approximately 3:10 A.M. Williams was known to frequent the Washington Park area.

Illinois State Police are working with Washington Park Police Department to investigate these deaths, and it is unknown, at this time, if they are connected.
